These educational video modules are designed for individuals from nursing homes in Pennsylvania who seek to become familiar with the Pennsylvania Patient Safety Authority and its Web-based reporting system, the Pennsylvania Patient Safety Reporting System (PA-PSRS). The modules are adapted from a Webinar recorded on May 1, 2009; the modules accompany the nursing home training manual and user’s guide provided to nursing home representatives and available upon login to PA-PSRS (under the “Resources” tab).

After viewing these modules, nursing home representatives should be able to

• Understand and implement Pennsylvania’s reporting requirements for nursing home-related healthcare-associated infections (HAIs)
• Conduct surveillance for reportable infections and apply the appropriate criteria
• Use PA-PSRS to submit HAI reports and required utilization data
• Monitor infections using the analytical tools available through PA-PSRS

The modules are produced in Flash format and are intended for online viewing. Users may view all modules in one or multiple sessions.
