Medications Contributing to Fall Risk

Approximately 21% of all reports of patient falls submitted to PA-PSRS indicate that the patient was receiving one or more drugs that can contribute to the risk of falling.   The accompanying chart shows the percentage of these reports citing potentially contributing drug classes. Forty-three percent (43%) of these reports involved patients who were receiving drugs in more than one class.
